We saw three shows this past Saturday.
Jay Payton at 15 Orient. Dropping in at Grimm for Anders Davidsen. And the group show at 99 Canal.
Raw pigment on linen. A texture and materiality that feels familiar. Diaphanous forms undulating in flurry symmetry.
Tasteful but too safe, Not surprising or transgressive.
“Material sensitive.”
Surface sensitive.
