Image of the Sun.
Second try with distemper. Difficult to control edges/consistency.
Drying time? The glue dries up instantly after pigment is mixed.
Have no clue about how layering work. How colors interact.
Reversable with water.
Been finding the raw edge of the frame to be extremely awkward. Stark color/raw linen contrast feels very gauche.
To achieve the effect of the painting above would be much easier with oils. But don’t have the patience to make a more copy.
Takeaway from Media’s talk:
- Narrative tention: the contradition inherent in fluxus and the task of archiving makes an engaging friction. Conceptually brilliant.
- Storytelling - how she strings togehter the unfolding of events in the art project she participated by just her voice (her thoughts/idea)
- A sense of intellectual humor.
